Lady Gaga has announced the release of Harlequin, a companion album to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux. The album will drop this Friday, September 27th, one week ahead of the film’s global release on October 4th.
In the Todd Phillips-directed Joker: Folie à Deux, Gaga stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. Described as a jukebox musical, the film features jazz standards like “Get Happy,” “That’s Life,” and “I’ve Got the World On a String.” All of these songs appear on Harlequin, along with several original tracks from Gaga.
Harlequin is Gaga’s first album since Chromatica in 2020. She’s already teasing her next full album of original material, set for 2025, which she refers to as LG7. Gaga is calling Harlequin “LG6.5,” marking it as a unique release tied to her role in the film.
